Winter Wine Tours

Try something different this winter, add a wine tasting event to your mountain holiday.

Home to Europe's highest vineyards, the Courmayeur area - very easily accessed from Chamonix - is one of the few places in the Alps where you can readily combine world class skiing with visits to genuine working wineries... not to mention a great selection of top restaurants on and off the mountain and a range of relaxing or adrenaline-filled activities close by. During the winter season we can arrange one of the following set tours for you and your party (either as a private event or as part of a weekly open tour) or we can create a made-to-measure event to suit your needs.

A Taste of Italy

Visit the Fontina cheese ‘caves’ and two of the most important wineries in the upper Aosta Valley; take a stroll through the terraced vineyards and learn about production process - from the vine to the glass - followed by a guided wine tasting led by our local English-speaking wine expert - a chance to sample at least six local wines, each complemented by carefully selected local cheeses and hams.

Courmayeur Gastro-Tour

Spend the afternoon visiting two local wineries and the Fontina cheese ‘caves’ for a chance to sample a selection of the Alps’ best wines and cheeses before returning to Courmayeur for an evening of well-deserved indulgence; a relaxing stroll around one of Italy’s most picturesque alpine villages - with time for shopping and sightseeing - followed by a laid-back aperitif - Italian style - and a traditional meal at one of the area’s best restaurants.

Aosta Valley Tour

Summer in the Aosta Valley is packed with traditional events - our mountain culture is still very much alive: batailles des reines, carnivals, street markets, the bizarre Aostan sports of tzan and fiolet… not to mention the fascinating history; Romans, medieval chateaux, the Grand Tourists… This day-trip combines visits to vineyards and the ancient city of Aosta with the living culture of the area. And of course, we’ll stop in for a traditional lunch along the way, with plenty of food and wine to keep you going.

Val Veny Hiking & Wine Tour

The beautiful Val Veny lies at the very foot of the Mont Blanc chain, its gentle gradient makes it ideal for relatively easy hiking and the scenery is second to none. An expert guide will lead you along the trails of the valley, stopping along the way at the best viewpoints. After a picnic lunch of local specialities, such as Fontina cheese and beetroot salami, we take the short drive to Morgex to visit two award-winning wine producers. Here our local expert will take you through the production process and give a guided wine tasting – a perfect way to round off a memorable day.
