Important information about our walking tours
Our AOSTA VALLEY WINE & WALKING tour is suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness.

The idea is to enjoy the magnificent countryside that the Aosta Valley has to offer. We are certainly in no hurry!

We take frequent stops to admire the unparalleled scenery, to observe the wildlife and to enjoy a wonderful picnic of traditional local salamis, hams, cheeses and breads.

The walks vary from day to day; lush alpine meadows, fir tree forests, deciduous woodland and of course, vineyards!

At Italian Wine Holidays your safety is our first priority. The walks will be lead by a fully qualified local guide with expert knowledge and first aid skills.

The nature of the terrain means that there is plenty of ascending and descending but the trails that we use are of an easy grading, so these are never too steep for very long. The distances walked are usually between six and twelve kilometres.

The only equipment needed for the walks are a good pair of walking boots or shoes, a day-pack and suitable clothing (the summer months are usually warm and dry but the weather can change rapidly). For those who use walking poles, these can be a big help where the paths are a little more worn.

Mountaineering equipment is not needed.
